Turn abuse into support for the people who are receiving abuse.

Alternatively, go out of your way to do something supportive and positive for (X) group. Or something you can do to support an (X) family or child.

Will it solve everything? Probably not. Will it help? I think so, and it could grow into something more if people do this a lot. And it's something positive to do with reaction generated from experiencing or witnessing abuse. And it can be done in an easy enough, non-perfectionist way -- just pick something, it doesn't have to be the perfect thing, it will still probably be helpful.
