It does have to deal with the post. OP talked about common tropes and the gym. He mentioned the "looks don't matter" take contradicts the "just hit the gym bro" take. However, the "just hit the gym bro" take can be more than looks related and that's what I was talking about in my post. The gym has serious mental and physical health benefits, which is something, as you said, "everyone knows about". When you're talking to a gym bro, they aren't going to be able to relate to you well, so they tell you to do what helps them. Don't fault them for that.

The gym often can be health-related, not just look-related. While it's true that the stereotypical "hot guy" is ripped and hits the gym daily, the average person in the gym is not super handsome or pretty. It's good for your own personal health, though. Same with haircuts. It's been proven that self-care helps your own personal mental health, no matter how you look.
