Letting people choose what laws they want to follow is simply a recipe for chaos.

I'd agree if it was a case of them being unable to afford it. However, this is a case of deliberate defiance. You can't just break the law without consequences.

I don't consider building and sanitation codes to be "bad laws." They're part of what differentiates the United States from the third world. These laws save lives.

So you think people should be able to defy any law they want on their property?

Then the Founding Fathers must have been involved in a plot against the American people, as they clearly make impeachment an option in the Constitution.

Actually, I'm totally fine with those rules being enforced. Even in the highly biased article linked above, it admits that the authorities had been trying to enforce these rules for 14 years and only took action because of the offenders' stubbornness. Furthermore, it's worth noting that the Amish are highly selective about which technologies are banned under their supposedly God-mandated rules, often making exceptions on no other grounds than convenience.

yet the western countries always import their manufacturing jobs overseas I wonder why?

Because the people overseas are willing to work much more cheaply, and have a far lower living standard, than people here. In the real world, things are governed by economics, not whatever racist ideology your perspective is filtered through.

Leaving aside the chance of having children who would be left without support, I can't understand why anyone would not use a condom in a situation like this, particularly given that you're sleeping with a prostitute who is likely infected with multiple STDs. That borders on Darwin Award-level stupidity.

Given that the Democrats in the House actually looked at the testimony and evidence, while the Republicans were content to just hurl insults, spread conspiracy theories about Ukraine, and refuse to cooperate in any meaningful way, I think they are the ones who are truly being partisan.

Or, you know, because Western countries have lower infant mortality rates, thereby lessening the need for replacement children, and because of the expense of raising and educating children in the West, which makes having large numbers of children untenable for all but the richest or most irresponsible of families. Furthermore, I don't see immigration as automatically a bad thing.

I find it somewhat ironic that Williams claims that the United States is in moral decline now, given that United States history is checkered with such moral low points as African-American slavery, the genocide of American Indians, etc. Pointing to taxation for social welfare programs and a lack of religion as a sign of "moral decline" is frankly a bit silly.
