It's testament to how stupid humanity is that they are willing to pay to have a surveillance device on them 24/7.

If humanity just had been a little bit smarter, people would be running at least Linux (meaning with an actual user land) on their phones instead of ad infested dystopia.

I blame the rest of humanity for the tech dystopia that's being developed. The duopoly where it is "normal" to have an Android and iOS app, but you can't function in society without one of those, is insanity.

TVs do not last two decades anymore. It's 5-10 years. I don't know which component breaks first, but no doubt they are engineered to fail.

I don't see why any of those people would need a $1000 phone other than as a status symbol (which only idiots would fall for).

I try to vote with my wallet, but there are just so many idiots that bought tech giants products that they now have created a dystopia for decades to come.

I recently got a new phone. The last one unfortunately I managed to crack the screen even with a case almost right after I got it. First time I've done that. I didn't want to spend $140 to fix the screen from an approved repair place so as to not void the warranty, so I just dealt with it and figured at some point it would be more cost effective to replace than to repair.

It took a few years, but with the next Gen phones upon us the last gen prices nose dived. So for about $100 more than fixing the screen I get last season's top gen.
