Here is part of the backstory.

I doubt M7 has had vaccines, and he notes he possibly had the virus 2 other times. So perhaps there is a periodic development of antibodies in this case. Not that those antibodies last for longer than 3-6 months, but icreased immunity does appear to be one of the reasons for gradual decreases in cases, thanks to vaccines and in some cases, thanks to people building immunity after getting certain strains of COVID.

I might add that I think M7 is also listening to Rand Paul's approaches. I worry about this because he's of course misleading and quite dangerous. One can also get those updates on his website and donate at the same moment to him. He's literally profiting from his misinformation. In any event, I hope this adds to the discussion.

M7: GREAT news that you are feeling better. Best wishes.

Dr Socks has called Dr Paul a misinformation agent. I wonder who has more medical training?

Dr Socks is a Dr Shill.

When I last blinked was I whisked away through a portal into some surreal parallel universe where having medical training was a sign of esteem?

Socks doesn't think that appealing to authority is a logical fallacy, so here I am using it against him.

While I agree with you, I'd be willing to put money on the idea that there are a lot of folks without as many letters behind their name as one Anthony Fauci, who could lay waste to him in a debate.

And it isn't because they're smarter, it's because he's lying, and he'll keep on lying. And usually you have to do all kinds of mental gymnastics when that occurs, as we've seen the past two years..

[deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun 2 years ago

Which is why we know he's well aware that he's tricking his followers. At least I link to medical science research. Also, look at the BigCorp and special interest groups that are VERY happy with his attempts to spread COVID19: https://www.opensecrets.org/members-of-congress/rand-paul/contributors?cid=N00030836&cycle=CAREER

Those are the folks making billions during the pandemic and they don't want it to end.

Where is Paul's misinfo? I remember us talking about how Rand was openly pro-vax. Or was that one of your co-workers?

Natural immunity lasts far longer than 6 months. That claim is propaganda designed to get people to accept constant jabbing. The antibodies that are produced during an infection wane, but the immunity is not dependent on those antibodies staying around forever. Your immune system keeps a memory of how to produce those antibodies and will produce them again when you are reinfected.

Just like you get a lifetime immunity to chicken pox you get a lifetime immunity to covid. And no, the rare exception of people getting chicken pox again does not disprove this. Exceptions exist to everything but do not disprove the rule.

If there is a significant mutation to covid then obviously nothing can stop that. However, natural immunity will provide protection against some mutations while the vaccines can not.

Thanks for the info - which I didn't know about. I see now that:

People who recover from mild COVID-19 have bone-marrow cells that can churn out antibodies for decades, although viral variants could dampen some of the protection they offer.

He's always followed the Republican playbook - which is to gain followers by making them believe that he and the Libertarian/GOP are the only ones who can be trusted, and that science, facts, truth, etc. are entirely governed only by them. They're trying to fool people into thinking that a vote for them is an anti-government vote, that democracy is a sham and should not be trusted, and that instead these GOP crooks and their corporate sponsors will look after you. It's the only way they can get votes. If you bother to read what they've actually done while in power, you would never vote for them, and they know it. So R. P. and others can get plenty of news media attention for engineering death threats against Fauci, while politicians who are actually governing are not getting news coverage. So R. P. is somehow the anti-government hero, while doing exactly what the GOP playbook tells him to do, in order to restrict voting, reduce taxes on the rich, increase taxes on the 99%, keep wages low, kill the envoronment at the behest of corporations, take money away from funds for education, reduce Social Security options, etc. etc. Meanwhile - did you see what he said to Fauci? Doesn't matter. Follow the money.

That's a great opinion piece socks. You should really think about the mental toll that your crazy conspiracy theories might be having on your mental health.

I don't see the approaches of Paul, Green, Sinema, Manchin, Trump and others as secretive or hidden, but rather obvious to those of us concerned about the long history of politicians' manipulations of news media and (now) social media to spread propaganda. It's all visible, which is one reason for developments of PACs and other groups that hide the sources of political donations. My comments don't surprise anyone. They've seen the propaganda, misinformation and disinformation. What's different on Saidit - and perhaps worthy of continuous discussion here - is how this information is interpreted.

Wait are you telling me a politician is telling his constituents what they want to hear with hopes that he will be reelected? That's fucking insane dude I don't believe you.

Good thing that only applies to the GOP. The Democrats are all completely forthcoming and honest and only have our best interests in mind, which is why the entire Democratic platform is completely aligned with the interests of elites and major corporations, whom they work with directly to control "dangerous misinformation" and decide what opinions we are allowed to have (for our own good). Follow the money.

that is a few too many doubts and perhaps's..

i think that we have a simple flu just like we have always had for all of my almost sixty years on this planet..

people are getting vaccinated because of bullshit advice, when all they really need to do is to get back to their roots and start making a habit of eating directly from a freshly filled toilet.

that is my advice and it has been fact checked, no need to doubt anything that i am saying.

btw, if magnora passes away can i have his hard drives?
