I must be so buried in cannabis sativa that sickness can't breach the armor.

The research actually supports this.

Yeah, I've been seeing that. Seems too good to be true but then it is still a controlled substance for most of us.

Well it seems smoking tobacco also protects against covid and that's not quite too good to be true.

funny you mention that, I had my first tolerance break in over 2 years last week and guess what I am 99% sure I caught, I still cant smell anything I have the wifey out looking for some zinc and vitamin k2 supplements in the meantime, still pretty disappointed I was led to believe this would be the worst experience of my life, I have had colds feel worse then this the only part of it that's getting to me is the lack of smell and taste.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

I still cant smell anything

This is not a symptom of Covid, this is nonsense, it's a symptom of being sick and having something that enflames your sinuses. Whenever your sinuses get swollen (which happens whenever you get a nasal or respiratory infection like the cold, flu, sinus infection, bronchitis, etc, etc), it blocks up your Olfactory Nerve, which is responsible for both smell and taste. Almost 3/4 of taste comes from scent. This is a MSM fear tactic in my humble, educated opinion.

Don't you remember being a child (or sick before 2020), with an upper respiratory infection or something that warranted paying the doctor a visit? With a very stuffy nose? A sinus infection maybe? Were you able to smell or taste things as well as you could (if you even could) as you would when you weren't sick?

[–]emptiedriver 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

have you talked to people who've had this symptom? My cousin has lost her taste for 3 months now, does not have a stuffed up nose anymore and is not having "trouble smelling" but has just lost the ability to taste things. It may be related to the same area that's affected in other infections, but for some people it's a notably distinct symptom.

Why assume it's a "fear tactic"? People self-report that they have lost a sense of taste or smell. Do you think that many people are being manipulated to say something that they aren't even experiencing or that's no different from the last time they had a stuffy nose? It doesn't happen to everyone, and it's temporary for most, but some people fully recover except the sense is either changed or lost.

With any given flu you will have a percentage of people who have such symptoms.

Had it feb 2020. When it was still fresh from Fauci's laboratory.
About similar recovery times.

Disinfected my nose with old-school steam.
I ate eggs to restore my immune system and strength.

Now I am waiting like most people for the crazies to calm down.

Eggs when you're sick are like a miracle! I also like to do soups like bone broth or chicken noodle.

I also force myself to get out in the sun even though I'm sick.

[–]magnora7[S] 5 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 1 fun6 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

My last bout of it, I had long covid symptoms for literally 6 months. Ivermectin cleared it up permanently after a single use.

I was good for a month and then I caught the omicron. Hopefully I'll be good until the next strain, which will probably be even less severe than omicron (hopefully)

[–]jamesK_3rd 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Yeh. I just got another prescription of ivermectin. Being that is generally good against a lot of virus(viral pneumonia, etc) and the fact that they are artificially limiting it, i figured now was the time.

I'm glad the long COVID is cleared up.

[–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yeah I got a second package of it as well, just in case it becomes unavailable.

Glad to hear you're feeling better. Did you take anything for it?

[–]magnora7[S] 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I was taking daily zinc + Quercetin. Every 2 days a small dose of ivermectin. Lots of vitamin D. Niacin to break up blood clots, both flushing and non-flushing.

Seemed to work okay. I did get dehydrated by the end though, and I had some sort of histamine inflammation reaction that caused my digestion to be very painful for a few days after all the other symptoms had cleared up. I have since heard antihistamines like famotidine and benadryl are useful against covid, and if I could go back I'd probably take a bunch of antihistamines toward the end. Glad to be on the other side of it all. Can't wait until everyone else is too.

You had a flu.

[–]jet199Instigatrix 3 insightful - 3 fun3 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 3 fun -  (0 children)

Man flu.

[–]magnora7[S] 2 insightful - 2 fun2 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 2 fun -  (14 children)

The main reason I knew it wasn't the flu was because it had the same symptom as the original and delta, a symptom which no flu has ever given me before... extreme fatigue and exhaustion upon standing and moving, for weeks after all the other symptoms had cleared up. Like if I was sitting I was 100% fine, but when I stood up to move and do stuff I would immediately feel absolutely exhausted and wrecked after the mildest of physical activities. Like I need a 30 minute sit after walking across the house. No flu or cold ever felt fine in one posture and then terrible in another posture. That was the telltale sign it was covid for me.

Also my friend who also got it and gave it to me tested positive for covid, for whatever that's worth. As did his friend who gave it to him (who also got over it in 3-4 days).

[–]yetanotherone_sigh 4 insightful - 3 fun4 insightful - 2 fun5 insightful - 3 fun -  (3 children)

You had alpha and delta and omicron? Dude.

[–]magnora7[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (1 child)

Yup. Shit sucked. My immune system has never been very good.

I was considering going to the hospital for alpha in late Dec 2019, before covid was even a known thing. It was pretty bad. Delta was 50% as bad. And omicron was like 10% as bad.

[–]yetanotherone_sigh 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

I had alpha and delta. So far. I had the same experience as you on the first two. March/April 2020 I had alpha and it was very bad. A year later I got delta and it was very much like yours. Half as bad, maybe less than half. I certainly wasn't coughing my lungs out for 3 weeks. I am hoping to avoid omicron but it looks very widespread at this point.

extreme fatigue and exhaustion upon standing and moving

Thats what my brother in law had too! He said the exact same thing about not moving. As soon as he tried to do stuff it was like he had run a marathon

[–]magnora7[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Yes exactly. It was very very odd feeling. I would feel completely fine for hours sitting, and then doing literally anything would give that "I just ran a marathon" feeling. That lasted on and off for 6 months, and thankfully it went away after one dose of Ivermectin.

[–]Rah 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (4 children)

Flu varies from year to year. Flus give fatigue dependibg on your immune system's consistency, diet and even mental wellbeing (stress promotes oxidation, which depletes your immune response)

[–]magnora7[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

Yes flus vary, but when all the symptoms uniquely match with covid and the people who gave it to me tested positive, it's probably covid.

[–]Rah 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (2 children)

Where is the isolated sample then.

[–]magnora7[S] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

They had the entire DNA sequence of the virus in 2020 already, so clearly it's been isolated... https://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2020/01/200131114748.htm

They had to isolate it to make it in the lab. It started out as isolated.

How do you know it was covaids as opposed to any other cold or flu?

[–]magnora7[S] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

The friend who gave it to me tested positive for covid, and the symptoms were extremely similar to the last 2 times I had it. So it's extremely likely it was covid

[–]TiwakingMy Pronouns are Nigger and Boss Nigger 2 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 0 fun3 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

Cornfed 3 insightful - 1 fun - 7 hours ago How do you know it was covaids as opposed to any other cold or flu?

From what I have been told by my brother in law (but he had mild Omicrons): You sleep a lot, sometimes sore joints - super runny nose and phlegm. If it wasnt for the sleeping/tiredness he would have thought it was a normal flu

[–]Brewdabier 4 insightful - 2 fun4 insightful - 1 fun5 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

As Cornfed ask How do you know it was covaid, could have been anything. Because some of the symptoms of flu, COVID-19, and other respiratory illnesses are similar, the difference between them cannot be made based on symptoms alone. Testing is needed to tell what the illness is and to confirm a diagnosis.

[–]TiwakingMy Pronouns are Nigger and Boss Nigger 3 insightful - 1 fun3 insightful - 0 fun4 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

I had covid as I posted earlier. I got better in about 4 days,

My brother in law got omicrons two weeks ago. He had the same experience: really bad cold, sleeping a lot (which was very unusual and how the found out it was the holocough). He could still eat and the symptoms went away after 3 or 4 days. He go retested on Friday and it came back negative. Im glad your better! :D

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (31 children)

Here is part of the backstory.

I doubt M7 has had vaccines, and he notes he possibly had the virus 2 other times. So perhaps there is a periodic development of antibodies in this case. Not that those antibodies last for longer than 3-6 months, but icreased immunity does appear to be one of the reasons for gradual decreases in cases, thanks to vaccines and in some cases, thanks to people building immunity after getting certain strains of COVID.

I might add that I think M7 is also listening to Rand Paul's approaches. I worry about this because he's of course misleading and quite dangerous. One can also get those updates on his website and donate at the same moment to him. He's literally profiting from his misinformation. In any event, I hope this adds to the discussion.

M7: GREAT news that you are feeling better. Best wishes.

While I agree with you, I'd be willing to put money on the idea that there are a lot of folks without as many letters behind their name as one Anthony Fauci, who could lay waste to him in a debate.

And it isn't because they're smarter, it's because he's lying, and he'll keep on lying. And usually you have to do all kinds of mental gymnastics when that occurs, as we've seen the past two years..

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

Which is why we know he's well aware that he's tricking his followers. At least I link to medical science research. Also, look at the BigCorp and special interest groups that are VERY happy with his attempts to spread COVID19: https://www.opensecrets.org/members-of-congress/rand-paul/contributors?cid=N00030836&cycle=CAREER

Those are the folks making billions during the pandemic and they don't want it to end.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (6 children)

Where is Paul's misinfo? I remember us talking about how Rand was openly pro-vax. Or was that one of your co-workers?

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (5 children)

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (4 children)

Hahhaaha do you really think that cloth masks and N95 masks are equally effective? Fauci is now saying the same thing that Rand did in August.

https://www.thedenverchannel.com/news/national/coronavirus/dr-fauci-says-to-wear-the-highest-quality-mask-that-you-can-tolerate-as-omicron-spreads

This is a weak argument, why are you shilling for Fauci?

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (3 children)

You know that there is much more to Paul's early messages about masks than the difference between cloth and N95. He and we aren't that dense. Most of us got by with basic cloth masks until recently (omicron) because research indicated that masks of most kinds reduced transmission significantly. The omicron strains are of course much more transmissible, which has us now focused on N95 (niosh) and KN95 masks which are required on flights. (Still, this is the ONLY domestic flight requirement in the US, but that's a different discussion.) Paul knows well that his approaches to masks have been aimed at anti-mask voters who want to use that excuse for not wearing masks - and want to tell others that they won't wear them because Paul told them they're not effective. It's not like they've read Paul's statements as pro-N95, and he's well aware of it. He's speaking to them, specifically.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (2 children)

The science has always been clear that cloth masks (cotton, single layer) stop 3% of airborne viruses only.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (1 child)

I'm not going to look for the old articles at the moment, but I recall that the efficacy of cloth masks was understood to be significant - as much as 80%, depending on distance. The efficacy fo cloth masks against omicron transmission is a more recent concern.

[–]Canbot 8 insightful - 3 fun8 insightful - 2 fun9 insightful - 3 fun -  (1 child)

Natural immunity lasts far longer than 6 months. That claim is propaganda designed to get people to accept constant jabbing. The antibodies that are produced during an infection wane, but the immunity is not dependent on those antibodies staying around forever. Your immune system keeps a memory of how to produce those antibodies and will produce them again when you are reinfected.

Just like you get a lifetime immunity to chicken pox you get a lifetime immunity to covid. And no, the rare exception of people getting chicken pox again does not disprove this. Exceptions exist to everything but do not disprove the rule.

If there is a significant mutation to covid then obviously nothing can stop that. However, natural immunity will provide protection against some mutations while the vaccines can not.

[–][deleted] 3 insightful - 2 fun3 insightful - 1 fun4 insightful - 2 fun -  (0 children)

Thanks for the info - which I didn't know about. I see now that:

People who recover from mild COVID-19 have bone-marrow cells that can churn out antibodies for decades, although viral variants could dampen some of the protection they offer.

He's always followed the Republican playbook - which is to gain followers by making them believe that he and the Libertarian/GOP are the only ones who can be trusted, and that science, facts, truth, etc. are entirely governed only by them. They're trying to fool people into thinking that a vote for them is an anti-government vote, that democracy is a sham and should not be trusted, and that instead these GOP crooks and their corporate sponsors will look after you. It's the only way they can get votes. If you bother to read what they've actually done while in power, you would never vote for them, and they know it. So R. P. and others can get plenty of news media attention for engineering death threats against Fauci, while politicians who are actually governing are not getting news coverage. So R. P. is somehow the anti-government hero, while doing exactly what the GOP playbook tells him to do, in order to restrict voting, reduce taxes on the rich, increase taxes on the 99%, keep wages low, kill the envoronment at the behest of corporations, take money away from funds for education, reduce Social Security options, etc. etc. Meanwhile - did you see what he said to Fauci? Doesn't matter. Follow the money.

[–][deleted] 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (7 children)

I don't see the approaches of Paul, Green, Sinema, Manchin, Trump and others as secretive or hidden, but rather obvious to those of us concerned about the long history of politicians' manipulations of news media and (now) social media to spread propaganda. It's all visible, which is one reason for developments of PACs and other groups that hide the sources of political donations. My comments don't surprise anyone. They've seen the propaganda, misinformation and disinformation. What's different on Saidit - and perhaps worthy of continuous discussion here - is how this information is interpreted.

Good thing that only applies to the GOP. The Democrats are all completely forthcoming and honest and only have our best interests in mind, which is why the entire Democratic platform is completely aligned with the interests of elites and major corporations, whom they work with directly to control "dangerous misinformation" and decide what opinions we are allowed to have (for our own good). people are getting vaccinated because of bullshit advice, when all they really need to do is to get back to their roots and start making a habit of eating directly from a freshly filled toilet.

that is my advice and it has been fact checked, no need to doubt anything that i am saying.

btw, if magnora passes away can i have his hard drives?

Next up, the common cold. I was not sick for about a week after the Rona, now I got a standard run of the mill cold. I haven't had the cold for years.

Imagine how much worse it would have been without the vaccine.
