Seriously. You've got people from the left, the right, feminists, LGBT, conspiracy theorists, literally every type of person you can think of here. But everyone is only here for one thing: freedom of speech.

I get the sense that it doesn't MATTER what your beliefs are here. The fact is, you're allowed a voice. And it seems that everyone accepts that they may see ideas they don't agree with here. In that case, we should simply ignore or get into a civilized discussion. I've been browsing all afternoon and not seen a single argument.

This place could be special. Please keep it that way.

Reddit used to be better than it is now, but it was never truly good. At least not in my experience. From the beginning it was basically just a place to share memes and waste time - which makes sense, given that the purpose of it was to be as addictive and thus make as much money as possible.

Saidit has higher standards, so it should be better than Reddit. Rather than posting outrage porn or low-effort memes, strive to make informative posts, especially ones that allow you to cooperate with other members and build something great.

There are a lot of day old posts on the front page that seem to stay around a while. While they may be the posts that got the most engagement recently, part of what made Reddit addictive was that if you came back a few hours later, you'd usually see new posts on your front page. I think things should start going down the page a little sooner to make room for new content. What do you guys think?

I know people who don't regularly visit saidit.net will think that's racist. But it's not. BLM is a political terrorist group. There is literally a terrorist in their group. Susan Rosenberg. Bill Clinton pardoned her because of her support for the Democrats.

Although there's a two week moratorium on creating new subs, there's a lot of subs that already exist and are simply dead, full of spam, or otherwise uninspiring.

So here's the deal: find a sub youre interested in posting non-political content to, and then post it here, and other users who are looking to invigorate the non political side of saidit can check it out, maybe post some content, maybe provide enough upvote it floats up in /all and other users will visit the sub and give it the breath of life.

It's so interesting to see kind and passive people in my area become clearly VERY emotional when speaking of race and "diversity".

My small town had some type of event to honor those who died in the WTC. Guess what? BLM lined up on the same street holding signs. "BLACK LIVES MATTER TO ME!". To say it made my stomach turn would be an understatement.

For just ONE DAY you couldn't give it a rest? Maybe a time to honor people that were mercilessly killed, others that had to jump to their deaths out of a skyscraper. People who lost parents, children, siblings, aunts, uncles? You had to make it about BLM?

The best part too is that when it has been brought up in casual conversation - no one holds back anymore. Voting for Trump or supporting him in these previous years used to be something you sort of kept quiet. I asked a guy about the protest tonight in a very neutral way and he said "Yeah, and we're all sick of it. These fucking losers out here".

I mean even on Youtube videos that feature "diversity", they all have thumbs down.

Yes, this could be the elites pushing us against each other but I think there is more to it. The people I know who feel this way do not see someone walking down the street (Who happens to not be white) and feel rage and hatred. It's not that primal type of mind. They hate the behavior. They detest the influx of residents in our area that litter and leave shit all over our beautiful town. They DETEST these protesters who stand out here every week.

It's behavior. Any everyone is sick of it.

To say this is a subtle observation is laughable. Even the normies have had enough.

Generally the concensus seems to be when initially visiting saidit you're underwhelmed by the participation rate and the how little the vote counts are in relation to Reddit.

For the participation rate, there's little you can do, and little I'd personally want to be done. I'd sooner no comments than the usual bullshit Redditspeak one liners repeated ad-nauseum.

I like saidit for that it seems to follow the quote "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it." Which in contrast to the kindergarten that is Reddit, is so fucking refreshing.

What you can change is the vote count. In fact you can upvote twice here. Do so. Even if the view expressed isn't in line with your own.

What I'm trying (poorly) to say is make this place feel less of a ghost town, and don't fall in to the hivemind trap of Reddit. It's up to us to make the alternative an alternative.

You come here sprouting whatever that you can't say elsewhere. But you're all are happy to just freeload. Reddit has their stupid gold & silver, plus giant Chinese investor and Big-Corp ads support. I am someone that considers themselves asexual and sex-repulsed. I've had a traumatic experience that I believe it tied to it, but I'll leave it at that because my backstory isn't the point.

I've been really upset ever since mainstream culture decided to tack on asexuality to the LGBT spectrum. I don't consider my lack of sexuality a sexuality. Sex is the last thing I want to hear about, when it's a MASSIVE topic of discussion in literally any LGBT circle. I'm not "gay". I don't have "pride" for my "sexuality". I'm definitely not "sex positive". I think I'm very far from the rest of this community when it comes to political beliefs and views on sexuality and I've gotten upset hearing nonstop graphic sexual chatter in my so called "safe spaces" online.

So why do the powers that be insist that I be lumped in with those people? I've gotten banned from a few asexual subreddits for even daring to say this and I'm actually horrified. It feels predatory that asexuals literally do not have a comfortable place that they don't have to hear about sex or pornography and now it's considered "progressive" to put us right next to our triggers.
