    Your meta-context is interesting, but it doesn't negate the motivational value of the quote. I haven't read his work and now I don't care to, thanks to your review. It sounds akin to All I Really Need To Know I Learned In Kindergarten pablum. However, sometimes we can still appreciate reminders of the fundamentals, as are in the Tao Te Ching.

    The differences between "participate or don't" versus "accept conditions as they exist, or accept the responsibility for changing them" matter - especially in these times of class war like never before, to motivate people to action against oppression, regardless if they're woke or not.

    I encourage you to post better motivations in /s/quotes and/or /s/GetMotivated and/or /s/Solutions and I hope to catch some of them among the torrents of bad news.
