When media says say “those rockets don’t tend to do that kind of damage,” I assume the media is referring to a rocket that has traveled all the way to its target.

But in this case, if Hamas had launched the rocket, the rocket didn’t go far and was still relatively full of propellant. That could account for the greater than usual damage.
