I think it's less 9/11 and more 2016 brain. That seems to be the moment everything became a coin toss. 2016 election, COVID, trans issues, abortion - everything is either or, red or blue, black or white now and if you don't join either team, you're a fascist by default. Forget nuance and consideration or simple research, there's this dire need to let everyone know which tribe you joined on social media and that is the only concern. The current war, for example. Within minutes of the attack, US citizens (granted, at the extreme ends) rushed to make their allegiance know. Moron demonstrators out in the street picking fights with no real concern for the team they represent, only for the gram. Fucking morons.

Israel has given concession after concession, given away land, walked back to the table of peace over an over. And they were met with sneaky, underhanded murder for their efforts. Years of lies. Years of deception. It is not insane to say Israel has had enough and deserves to live in peace. No matter how hard you try to spin it. The people of Gaza chose their leadership. They could have chosen differently. They chose Hate. Thousands of years of hate and a death cult. Choices have consequences. If you try to break into my house once, and I let you go, and you come back to try to kill me again, and I let you go...how many times do I show compassion? That is not "war mongering"--its self-defense. And everyone has the right of self-defense.
