According to the article this business award to a business man was given in 2010 - 6 years before he was president. I don't see how they are related.

Way to denigrate the Scottish culture. That's just the ceremonial dress they wear at higher learning institutions. Just like many cultures wear robes and mortar boards.

Who said anything against Scottish culture? Maybe his visit overseas helped him get the support he needed to become king over America.
