There's no way this wasn't planned by all sides. The Trump and Biden administrations are in agreement on what transpired, although we'll see each blame the other for the bad optics.

They probably didn't even roll troops out, there's likely mercenaries all over Afghanistan and this entire stunt is public relations.

It's also worth noting that America broke their side of the agreement by remaining in afgan longer than what was agreed upon, which the taliban have thrown out because of that.

What happened to general officers like Patton and Sherman. We had the might to mow Vietnam and Afghanistan right down to the dirt and bold officers like Patton and Sherman would have done it quickly and efficiently.
