Even the most rabid right-wing nutjob can see the pathetic skewed approach in this article. And perhaps they'll like it anyway.
This is merely an election reform bill that will help with absentee and overseas ballots and other election problems. That's it. We need election reform, for obvious reasons.

Thanks - but no one reads an entire bill, word-for-word. The bill summeries indicate that stringent, classist, racists, and unnecessary voter ID laws that require citizens to do much more than provide a government-issued picture ID (ie. that special IDs have been required, or additional IDs), should change their laws to allow for more inclusive approaches to using government-issued photo IDs. If for example a person has limited resources and cannot get a special ID, then another form of government-issued photo ID should do. No, a state will not secede because of this (well, maybe Texas, but that's OK).

PROHIBITING IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENT
FFS - READ the entire section:
“(A) PROHIBITING IDENTIFICATION REQUIREMENT AS CONDITION OF OBTAINING BALLOT.—A State may not require an individual to provide any form of identification as a condition of obtaining an absentee ballot, except that nothing in this paragraph may be construed to prevent a State from requiring a signature of the individual or similar affirmation as a condition of obtaining an absentee ballot.
This takes the red tape out of getting a ballot, and to remove additional ID requirements. When you complete the ballot, you will be formally identified and checked against the usual records. In that manner, you can get the ballot and apply the ID at a later date.
The bill is brilliant because it prohibits so many of the tricks Republicans have used to supress voting rights in their states. All of the items prohibited have been fraudulently used by Republicans in previous elections. The bill is an absolutely needed. (No the election was not stolen, FFS.)

Requiring an ID suppresses voting rights? Do these suppressed people never have to show an ID for anything?
No. A government-issued photo ID is still required. Additional requirements for IDs would be prohibited, as these additional requirements are used to suppress voting.

Progressives keep pushing to abolish the filibuster since the bill needs 60 votes to advance in the Senate, but Democrat Senators Manchin and Sinema have opposed eliminating the filibuster.
It should not pass senate. if there are no rinos, then will get 50/50 with D tiebreaker, still not getting required 60 votes
