Well quite frankly, I would say the grand old party has outlived its usefulness anyway. The only reason half the country clings to it now is that is the only serious opposition to the left, and the Left only voted for biden because he was Left. What am I saying? The republican party is the Non-entity party now, the party-non grata, the dinosaur party that refuses to move into the 21st century. They are locked in a set of 20th century policies and corrupt corporate relationships that is choking their image with the people.

Look at trump, he was able to come out of left field and dominate their primaries, win the presidency. Meaning that all the other entrenched, incumbent republican politicians were ineffectual worms in comparison. They are like the Whigs, they represent a collective group of policies modern thinking people reject. I'm not saying those are bad policies, in fact a lot of them are policies that made america great in the first place, but that doesn't matter when the whole of society has turned into a drug-addicted free-sex crime ring.

They either need to re-invent themselves, with control of their own media, or a new party needs to arise based on new ideals and policies. Of course at this stage of the game of empire neither of those are a likely outcome, and instead, like the senate of old Rome, the incumbent politicians will no doubt just muddle along doing their backroom deals with the pharmaceuticals and arms dealers and other corporate interests that ultimately control the destiny of the nation. But that's politics folks, a profession stuffed to the gills with every type of narcissist, sociopath and white collar criminal that can worm their way in and up the rotten corpse.

Ah, the inherent elitism of leftists. Anyone who doesn't comply must be stuuuupid.

I think you over-read the comment. It seems to me that they not only mocking both major political parties, but also the modern American culture.

That's obviously NOT what /u/[deleted] has said here.

Though I agree with much of what [deleted] notes here, the missing element is that the "Radical Republicans" (as they are now called) have adjusted much better to the 21st century than the Democrats. Twittler was a good example of this. The 1% have made a fortune from the 99% since the time of Reagan and development of the Radical Republicans. These aren't Eisenhower Conservatives trying to put a lid on the New Deal. These are Radicals who've been radicalizing dumbass voters who think they're voting for freedom fries &c, whilst the 99% have had everything gleaned from them in the past 40 years, in portions that have not been scrutinized appropriately (tax cuts for the 1%, stealing from Social Security, ruining healthcare, letting small businesses fail, cuts to education, cuts to environmental protections, reduction of important regulations for corporations and Wallstreet, &c).

There has been enemies within since politics became a lucrative career choice; grifters at the very least.

She's referring specifically to Congresspeople who incited violence and helped terrorists attack the Capitol. They're traitors. Let's see, what's the long history of what should happen to traitors who are in important governmental positions?
