Hail storms have hit multiple states.

And this is the result of that? Odd that is landed so hard and so large that it knocked the windscreen out of the frame, but there doesn't appear to be a dent or a scratch on the hood or roof.

That appears to be a good observation. I am not familiar with that particular car make or model. Maybe the body material is more of a bouncy material and more resistant to dents. I like that you are thinking about what you see. We should scrutinize everything we are told.

I wonder if, maybe, someone needed a new windscreen, heard about the hail, punched a few holes and decided to make a claim? Maybe I'm just suspicious. Could be part of the car was undercover and I'm just a jerk.
