I am highly skeptical of this story .. without professing to know much about NA culture I am aware they regarded strangling a wild cat of any sort an impossibility, whereas those who tried suffered serious injury, I want to see what marks the cat left on him.

It was a juvenile less than a year old according to the article, weighing between 70-90 pounds. I agree it sounds far fetched. But if we are talking about a 180+ pound grown man, physically fit (he was jogging) I don't think it's completely impossible.
