I tried an 18 when I was 29 once...bad idea, it'll be a disaster, they're still children.

If we're going to define people by their knowledge, experience and psychological maturity, you'd have to call people children up until their 40's.

the ability to deal effectively and resiliently with experience and to perform satisfactorily in developmental tasks (biological, social, cognitive) characteristic of one's age level.

It's pretty subjective, and subject to cultural and environmental factors, but yeah. One could say the peak of the transition curve is somewhere in the 40s range, and not be wrong.
