protesting a corporation that you willingly use in this manner is beyond dumb.
the only way to protest corporate social media is to boycott it entirely. you’ve seen what these platforms have to offer, you’ve seen that they are evil 👿 trash, and if you continue using them YOU are part of the problem. period.

Well, if most subs are closed, people can use the site right? And honestly, I can't wait to see all the crazy extremist fucks descending on the place like a plague of locusts after the moderation tools are fucked.
It's gonna hit them so hard right in the wallet.

Closing API access like they are doing hurts the ability for the jannies to exert their control. That's why they're mad.

Ah that explains everything. Saying that though it will lead to more centralised control but when the god of the administration can just circumvent every effort for expression there's no point in trying. I suppose the crowd there now don't really know what they're missing.

there is no freedom of speech on private platforms unless that is a protected feature of said platform. this is well established fact.

Freedom of speech is a good thing to strive for but an impossible task. It's not about perfection it's about reaching the form of free speaking. Ya'll need me to tell you about Plato?
