    Not for the black market, for our then booming opiate business. The safest and most effective opiates are either natural, or semi-synthetic. Opium, the basis for these medications, is too complex to be viably synthesized. The wholly synthetic opiates like fentanyl are a lot more dangerous.

    Then as we are about to leave Afghanistan, and our source for these drugs, we have an "opiate crisis." It isn't the first time the American public has been weened off opiates. Now there are quotas for these drugs, reflecting our limited supplies.

    I think the one thing we can reliably count on from this Administration is that they'll leave as many people as possible to twist in the wind and die in a ditch. Afghanistan for sure is going to wither on the vine, because I doubt Biden's handlers would risk another devastating blow to their reputation and credibility; remember, it was the supreme clusterf*ck of them pulling out how they did that caused the wider public to pull back from their support for Biden. They may chuck some bombs there and say they did some good, but anyone that's been left behind is already dead, it's just a question of how much longer it'll take them to die.
