I wish they would have fined him an exorbitant amount of money as well. His shenanigans must have cost the taxpayers quite a bit of money. $120k seems like not enough

Agreed. Had he owned up to his hoax, some leniency could have been warranted. Instead he's continued to lie, acting as if he's done kind of oppressed civil rights champion. A couple of years and the full costs of the police operation would have sent the right message.
