I really liked Ryuichi Sakamoto, especially his soundtracks, but haven't bothered to keep up with him for 20 years. Not a fan of this piano piece or the female vocals.

Wild Palms was an epic TV miniseries about virtual reality, far ahead of its time. Neat books and lore too.

The Sheltering Sky is IMO Bernardo Bertolucci's best movie, and tied with Apocalypse Now for cinematographer Vittorio Storaro. The making of (or was it director's commentary?) for this movie is great for learning filmmakers too.
