oh, that was serious, Sam Hyde being responsible for lots of shootings and getting away with it is an in-joke within the community

its a community based around a comedy group with Sam Hyde and a few others, most prominently the Adult Swim series World Peace, which got shut down following Sam Hyde bringing a bit of alt-right politics into the show. The subreddit and any attempts at ban evasion (including many private subs) have been banned and there is an active voat community. I don't use voat but from what I've heard the subreddit was full of quality memes and some other alt-right things (books mentioned on sub), with it getting shut down for "~ in minecraft" shitposting
