There was... but it was solved more than a decade ago easily, if not more, and now the gender pay gap is completely back.. with men underpaid. I laughed my ASS off a few years ago when woke ass BBC decided they would actually look at the pay at their company because the feminazis were doing their usual crying, whining, and bitching.... and they almost did not release the results because MEN were underpaid but a significant margin. Did they fix it? Probably not, another "MAN tax" because I guess we do not pay and suffer enough already. HEEEYYYY at least this campaign of misandry, and lets be honest here misogyny as well as they hate any woman that wants to be a woman, and not a boss bitch (ie a man with tits) is finally coming full circle and we now have 30 somethings that cannot get a date and are now realizing that they will be single their whole life because they do not know how to treat anyone but themselves even remotely like a human, much less with respect. Starting to see women coming out saying they have been lied to, finally admitting that maybe it IS ok to be a house wife, or both, and those that went all in on the stupidity and decided to make the transition to a male(lol) are now trying to convert back or are quite literally killing themselves because they are being treated like a man, and have found out just how bad we are treated.

Agreed. I lost interest in the gender pay gap when a female BBC presenter won the right to equal pay of a male colleague who worked twice the hours and had 20 years experience on her. The absolute nerve of some people.

I learned the hard way, that as a straight, white, British male, I had no special characteristics on my side to get me jobs but had to work my ass off and fight for positios, while I watched affirmative action take effect hiring people into jobs with an IQ of 70 and no skills whatsoever just to fill a secret quota.

I honestly hope you fight against this bullshit. You have imports raping the shit out of people SO badly that there are apps that tell you not where to be. Yet... normal people are the ones being targeted if you misgender? When I went to London, the first thing I saw was people there were bigoted AS FUCK against Americans.... but hey that's fine because as long as it is not a "protected race/gender/fuckyou" all is fine.

I will lay it out that easiest way humanly possible. If you denigrate an entire group of people, you are a bigot. Period, full stop. Anything you use as an excuse after that is exactly that, an excuse. Your excuses can get fucked.

Don't let your country be the example of why this shit is bad. And if this is going to happen, DM me, I will give you a bed until you can get a job here in this country.. then you can help us fight this crap.

"Never"?

It is a demonstrable fact that until recently, men have been paid much more for literally the same work as women. We're not talking about the illusionary "pay gap" which is due to men statistically working longer hours with fewer career breaks, we're talking about a man and a woman doing the identical job where the woman is paid half the hourly rate or less.

And I'm not talking about ancient history back in the 1600s or the Middle Ages, I'm talking about only a few decades ago, in the memory of people who are still alive.

Denial of true facts is a terrible thing.

My sister literally had an interview 10 years ago and all the interviewees went for coffee afterwards to chat about it.

All the men had been offered £10k more for the same job.

A few years back, I was offered £5k less than a female counterpart for a position.

See, it's easy to make a blanket statement without any context. I was hired due to my skills and achievements, but was entering a position without any industry specific knowledge and fewer years experience.

Over time you learn to negotiate harder, sell yourself more, select your strongest points and work damn hard to get what you want instead of being handed something. For most of my adult life, I was turned down for jobs, but I didn't have the option to blame being a woman.

I was pertaining perhaps to the lesser form of the definition of "never", to mean "not at all" in the sense that there isn't a problem. A minor vocabulary mishap but still valid to what I was getting at.

A nice commentary on contemporary feminism. Have modern feminists been too clever by half? In an effort to achieve equality with men, or even superiority over men, have they simply put themselves into a position where women have no clear social function at all, and, are consequently treated as non-entities?

If a "woman" is simply defined as someone who uses she/her pronouns...

..and "women" get billions of dollars raised each year to advocate for preferential treatment in admissions, hiring, social services, health care, etc...

...well then the logical conclusion is that you'd have to be crazy not to use she/her pronouns.

          Right-o, time to explain the joke for the humour-impaired.

          The joke rests of the conflict between two principles of the modern social justice movement:

          1. That corporations and employers ought to ensure that they do not discriminate against women in hiring, and (particularly in white-collar work) any deviation from a 50:50 ratio of men to women is likely to be treated as evidence for discrimination due to sexism.
            • the corollary of that is that if two equally qualified candidates apply for one position, and one is a man and the other a woman, employers may sometimes give preference to the woman candidate in order to bring that sex ratio closer to even.
          2. And the principle that we should not "assume gender" and that just because somebody presents as a man (or woman) that does not mean that they really are a man (or woman), the pronouns they use may not reflect their "real sex", and that many non-binary or trans people have not "come out" and it may be triggering to require them to.
