    I'm Canadian, in Windsor, Ontario, though I've lived in the US about 10 years, legally and not. Never voted in your corrupt system.

    I've been Green Party all the way except once, Liberal, in the early 90s, even though I don't buy into the Climate Change scam - a distraction from MUCH more serious and legitimate environmental issues. Like making the frogs gay and people trans, among countless others.

    I also know that /s/Voting_IsARiggedJoke and that my Green votes are primarily protest votes in a rigged system that has an illusory slim chance of changing. Most of my neighbours here also vote Green, which makes me wonder how rigged Canadian elections are as well.

    As I note almost daily on Saidit - anyone on Saidit who supports the disinformation, misinformation and propaganda that got them kicked off Reddit are certainly supporting the 1%, at the expense of the 99%. They arrive at Saidit posting the same nonsense. Alt-Right 1% are paying for that disinforamtion at the websites that are popular on Saidit. Most of Saidit's posts are propaganda for the 'Right' (https://guides.lib.umich.edu/c.php?g=637508&p=4462444). You've probably seen my comments on this.

    Regarding masks, who do you think benefits from the spread of COVID19? (Not the 99%.) Also consider who pays for the anti-vax propaganda, and the specific demographic that's targeted (and brainwashed). These are the delusional people who will continue voting for Republicans, like snails voting for salt.

    ...if you want to oversimplify the circumstances of a pandemic in order to spread an unfounded conspiracy theory. You'd also have to locate Big Pharma in Wuhan in November 2019, and then in the decision making processes for the pandemic thereafter. One portion of this might work, but you'll never get all of it to fit the conspiracy puzzle required for your answer to have any credibility.

    There is nothing unfounded about it when there is already precedence with what almost happened with the swine flu, if not for some timely lawsuits. If only the pending lawsuits people filed over covid would go through. It is not just Wuhan who is complicit in this conspiracy to steal rights and cash in at the same time, it is also America, first through the Trump administration, and now the Biden administration.

    I'll admit that I don't think we can trust the information released from China about the virus. They're of course not trustworthy, for many reasons. Anyone assuming that we should accept their claims as honest obviously don't understand how the goverment controls information. That said, various scientific assessments help us understand the virus itself, even if we don't understand the origin as well as we should.

    Secondly, I would agree that the management of the spread of the virus has been so poorly arranged that it's obvious politicians and special interest groups and countries tried to control what's known about the virus, letting it spread at critical times last year.

    Thirdly, the Trump administration actively spread disinformation about the virus, for which all of them should be lined up against a wal and shot. This fucked-up lives, businesses, the social fabric in the us, where there are now idiots who still believe teh virus is a hoax.

    Fourth - will this continue under Biden? If you saw his comments today to the press, he's obvious very happy that 100 million doses of the vaccine have been injected, and he looks forward to a 4th of July when everyone can get together with their families. There isn't any evidence yet that the Biden Admin will continue the abuses of their predecessors.

    1% is one in a hundred people, that's going to be at least a couple of kids in your year at school.

    To be in the top 1% in the US you need to be earning £400k as a household. A married couple of doctors would be in the 1%. These aren't distant rich people living in a palace somewhere.

    It's a general reference, but often refers to the .001% or .01%, and for the 99%, 1% is distant rich. Median annual income in the US in 2019 was $31,133 (https://www.google.com/search?client=firefox-b-d&q=median+us+income). That - or also twice that - doesn't pay for healthcare, retirement, a house, a vacation, or much of anything. Quality of living in the US for the 99% has dropped dramatically since Reagan.

    One of the billionaires I know spends a lot of time in the Bahamas on a large yacht, with a group of very young ladies, some of his priceless artwork also on board, and invites a friend on occasion to go sailing with them. He's in his late 50s/early 60s, and is not married. He has more money than God, thanks in part to hedge funds. But the friend of mine (similar age) who visited him (and ladies) on this yacht was curious: why all of this was all so boring. A week of that wouldn’t be boring for me, but this guy spends months at sea like this.
