It was hard enough to line them up before the lockdown. I can't even imagine how terrible it must be for the youth. I now play chess in the afternoons/evenings with my old neighbours, a thing we started this month. I hadn't played for 30-35 years. I'm better than those guys but one who's been doing it for ever, but I'm learning his tricks, and it's getting a little less brain strain painful.

I beat the master once, but I'm still no Jedi. Today's game was pretty damn close though. It was the closest thing to an Old West shoot out that chess could have. Our game was pretty close all the way, but by the end, aside from a few pawns in the way, we had undefended kings in opposite corners and each were maneuvering our queens with 3 active pieces into position to trap the other's king. I was one or two moves away at most. An invigorating fair match. I always shake hands after he beats me and he always adds a fist bump after for some reason. Odd that you said that, or maybe it's common in chess. I never played it much, though I used to walk by it a lot in Manhattan.
