Everyone has a perspective. Leaning left just means I agree with more of their ideas than the right. It's a lean, not an identity, nor an agenda. I don't expect to get everything I want, but I expect to be able to express myself and to discuss and negotiate my position on things.
I don't care about the tribal parties, however, it's untrue that "real" people must not have preferences, leanings, opinions, tribes, etc. They are free to do so if the like - and remain real. Multiple contrasting perspectives can be simultaneously valid - even if it is a brainwashed dogma.
We all have blind spots, even the best among us. Even you nay-sayer.
