TypeScript is on top now.

Imagine if there was a random chance that your SaidIt comment failed to post when you pressed "save". But you had to wait 10 seconds to even know if it saved or not. Now you know what writing TypeScript is like. In a small project, you might do this a thousand times. That's three hours of productivity gone just so you can use enums.

Steve Jobs did it, he killed Flash due to personal vendetta and maybe some good arguments. I guess industry would have gotten there sooner or later, but he sped up the timeline.
