Maybe they get paid by "generous strangers" for each close-up. These "generous strangers" are of course alphabet agencies who hope to get the general public to "adopt the trend" to feed these faces into facial recognition so that no matter what expression is on your face, with enough detail of your face at rest, AI can infer what it will look like under ANY circumstances.

Mmm. I like the way you think but this is more 'mental illness' level. I'm just curious about it.
They know they're not good-looking (the female might think she is?) There's little variation in the pics, so they're not really expressing anything The pics are too close-up to show any real background, so they're not showing anything
It does seem to be a creeping trend though... I've just remembered a guy I have been fishing with and see often. Sent me a close-up of his face? I know what the fucker looks like, so why?
So yeah, that's 4 people now... eew?
