Well, no. The press corps is just reporting that he probably got Haley mixed up with Pelosi. At least, that's their best guess: no one knows for sure why he claimed that Nikki Haley, a private citizen who was the former Governor of South Carolina, was responsible for Capitol security.

It was Jim Jordan who started spreading the claim that Pelosi was in charge of Capitol (not White House) security back in 2021. It's never been true: the House has nothing to do with the Capitol Police Board.
