religious ones are still barking up the wrong tree, they reject their own messiah

Some of them have positive views of Jesus. Particularly Karaite Jews, who are like Protestants. And to be fair, they have a very distorted picture of him. The ones who helped kill him were actually there to meet him in the flesh.
