I bought 2lbs of plain greek yogurt for $4, that's what four of the individual packs sell for.

I like the fruit on the bottom yogurt cups, but I was looking at it... And that's just jam. So I just figured I'd buy plain yogurt and add my own jam to it.

I mean if it's greek yogurt you should have it with honey and maybe walnuts.
Make sure you get the full fat. In Greece they do 10% fat yogurt. That sets you up for the day.

They only had fat free unfortunately. I don't understand yogurt at the supermarket, sometimes they don't even have any plain greek yogurt, only vanilla flavored, unless that's the same thing.

Buy a packet of your favorite type of yogurt starter. Make all the yogurt you want, and just save a couple tablespoons for the next batch.
Unlike commercial yogurt, it continues on indefinitely.
Works great with half & half too, if you want higher fat content.

That's a good idea. Can't I use commercial yogurt to seed my own batches?

Just the word "yogurt" sounds disgusting. Keep that yukky crap away from me.
