Protests really don't do anything.

Agreed. It rarely does much to change political or legal realities. However, the most valuable thing protesting does is help dissidents find eachother. It's super dangerous meeting up with people you meet online but forming bonds by getting out in public and protesting is powerful. You have some skin in the game. There's often a lot of time to kill during these protests so you can chat to a lot of different people and feel them out for their beliefs. It's also a big psychological boost to meet people that think like you in real life. They don't want us doing this. They want us isolated, feeling like our destruction is inevitable. The guy that made the thread about demoralization trolls is spot on. We use to have a lot of those guys on reddit. I think they were called tactical nihilists at the time but the phrase hasn't survived very well.

Absolutely. This is completely underrated and more people need to start seeing public gatherings this way.

At any public gathering of this sort, free-thinker groups should set up a table or hand out flyers to attendees. This would include a website, e-mail, and maybe a time and location for another meeting at a public place.

Individual attendees should take the time to connect one-on-one with other attendees. Exchange contact info (in a secure way), maybe even something like a business card. If two attendees live close to one another, they should befriend one another and start organizing smaller but regular meet-ups in their area.

People could build off of this to start small local economies, homeschooling groups, support networks, information-sharing networks, intranets, etc.

None of this would need to be shady, edgy, or radical. Lefty "community organizers" have been doing things like this for decades.

Right on. I don't know how much of this is accidental and how much of it is on purpose. Fortunately I think there's enough motivation to turn things around.

An informal posting guideline that would help would be to include a potential solution anytime a problem is brought up. With time, solutions can build off of other solutions into more complex and effective strategies for success.

The Australian people were effectively neutered when the government disarmed them.

We had H1N1 swine flu, cholera, The Spanish flu, SARS, Although there are significant differences between the pandemics above and COVID-19, there are some key takeaways here.

Surveillance is important — we need to know who is affected and who has been affected. Indeed, testing is key to our understanding of COVID-19 and how to slow its progress.

We have also learned that physical distancing and quarantine measures work.

Where a pandemic happens, both geographically and historically, also makes a difference. Would the Black Death have been so devastating had the people of the time had access to modern medical treatments, an understanding of how germs spread, and improved nutrition? Probably not.

Now when I say "we" i'm referring to the educated people and not the shit for brains anti vaxxers.

I admire you. You don't let your shortcomings get in the way of your confidence. "You are educated beyond your intelligence", however Psychological projection is a defense mechanism people subconsciously employ in order to cope with difficult feelings or emotions.

you lack integrity and need to re-examine yourself and where you are in your life and society you poor insecure snowflake.

Ethocentric high iq Asians manage to stop covid before it is all over society. Pandemics need to be stopped early and Vietnam, Taiwan and South Korea have been doing an excellent job at finding small outbreaks and shutting them down.

Yes and as stated Vietnam, Taiwan, South Korea has been using a system of testing, contact tracing, and quarantine just like America but stopping it well.
