I think he's right. Woke ideology is absolutely lethal to the race blind French republic. It will benefit the nativist identitarians a lot more than the left.

This is actually a good thing, the US and Europe are out of sync. The US has moved on from liberalism and we are all just individuals to the Zimbabwe phase of multiculturalism. Europe is still in the American version of the 90s since Europe is still much whiter than the US. France is one of the most diverse countries in Europe but still white by US standards. It is too early for them to do critical race theory and BLM. Doing 2021 ideology when having a 1995 level of diversity will reduce the risk that the frog gets boiled slowly.

I read an article on an Argentinian company quoted as saying "We don't want a salary gap like in the United States" to justify their shaming tactics.

You're right, using shame and fear to keep employees in their place while pretending they have a say is new. The traditional co-op offers true ownership rather than conformity as a reward, and unions offer negotiated contracts rather than fickle "you know whos" (to quote the article) ruining all the fun.
