Here's a comprehensive article about degrowth — it mentions several books on the subject if anyone is interested in exploring the subject further.

I confess I have a poor understanding of economics but Keith Woods is right — unless the growth paradigm is discarded globalism is inevitable as capital seeks out every last possible pocket of natural wealth to exploit.

We're not going to degrow because the masses want their cheap plastic crap.

globalism is inevitable as capital seeks out every last possible pocket of natural wealth to exploit.

The biosphere will collapse long before that. It's already collapsing. We've lost 70% of all wildlife in just 50 years!

Ecological collapse is honestly the biggest whitepill out there. The only way this system's going down is by force of nature. I suspect it's likely that the system will still survive, though, but it's our only real shot.

I agree.

I highly doubt that.
