Listening to this at the moment. I have always appreciated the neo-primitivist's critique of modern society if only as a counter to the incessant propaganda of the technology boosters.

Rather than regecting technology altogether I am more a fan of appropriate use. For example, in order to score brownie points on the world stage, my government is subsidizing electric vehicles. A better response would be to design urban areas in such a way that vehicle use is minimized.

From the podcast summary:

David Skrbina is a philosopher at the University of Michigan. He and Ted Kaczynski published the book Technological Slavery, which elaborates on the Unabomber manifesto and contains about 100 pages of correspondence between the two which took place over almost a decade. Detailed study shows immigration is not making the Netherlands wealthier, nor is it benefiting the original citizens. It merely makes them minorities in an increasingly over-populated country. by Jacinda in debatealtright

Our government is forever arguing that a descendents of people who built this country can't get anything done but if we import a mass of people from China, India, the Middle East, and Africa the economy is really going to hum.

It's obviously ridiculous and because it destroys social capital I would oppose immigration even if did result in short term material gain. I am glad however to have some data to throw in their face.

SS: A detailed study of the economic impacts of immigration to the Netherlands. The results are broadly in alignment with race realist conclusions of the alt-right; migrants from Western countries (and Japan) are able to contribute economically while people from poorer countries are a net drain.

Detailed studies on the impact of immigration are extremely rare. As VDare has repeatedly pointed out the purported benefits (like multiculturalism itself) are simply stated as a modern article of faith.

In the comments section are pointing out the deleterious effects of immigration cannot be simply be analyzed through an economic lens.

TG (Comment#7):

Governments do not have immigration policies. They have policies aimed at forcing population growth.

You can’t just look at the financial impact of ‘immigrants’, that’s meaningless by itself. You have to look at the entire increase in population over time due to immigration, including their descendants. And you can’t just look at the financial costs per immigrant, that also misses the point. You need to look at the impact of the total population increase, and ask if it was matched with a corresponding increase in housing, fresh water availability, transportation capacity, industrial infrastructure, etc.

California used to have a population of about 10 million. Largely due to government immigration policy, the population of California has been roughly quadrupled to about 40 million. And water is running short – even though the long term trend in precipitation is flat! – and the roads are clogged, and homelessness is rising… just looking at the narrow financial impact of ‘immigrants’ misses the obvious.

And why isn’t this being discussed? Because forcing population growth drives wages and living standards for the working class down, and rents and profits for the rich, up. Surely this is obvious?

Chronicle n ° 14: Doing your duty

The spirit of solidarity has been replaced by boundless competition, and the sense of duty has been sidelined in favor of an attitude aimed only at publicity, not at the intensity of effort. Do not participate in this game and only think about one thing every moment; do your duty - not out of fear of the authorities (real or ideal) that dominate you, but out of conviction. Because what is the point of exercising an activity, if it is either to escape it as much as possible, or to sabotage it by your bad faith or your lack of motivation? If you do something, do it entirely, and don't think about the future outcome of your action, just that the action is done well so that you can be proud of your act - a pride not based on the importance or difficulty of what you just accomplished, but rather how you become one with your work. It is not by chance that the monastic rules (all religions combined) even oblige people ready to sacrifice their entire life in meditation and in the search for the divinity to force themselves every day to a repetitive body work, interpreted as a form of meditation and thrust towards the divine having the same value as prayer.

We should start collecting examples of this behavior.

The Indian population in the US behaves similarly. They vote Democrat and campaign for less restrictive immigration policies while simultaneously funding Modi and supporting Hindu nationalism at home.

Foreign Policy:

In U.S. politics, people of Indian origin skew Democratic—77 percent of the community voted for Clinton in the 2016 race. In a dichotomy that has left many scholars puzzled, a large number of them are supporters of right-wing politics in India.

“Modi has become a part of the winning narrative of the Hindu diaspora in particular,” said Ashok Swain.

[Snip...]

According to Sangay Mishra [...] “People likely to vote for BJP are middle-class and upper-caste Hindus, [...] The BJP has always been a strident nationalist position, and within that you see a particular variant of Hindu nationalism, which has a peculiar kind of appeal for this section of the diaspora.” [Cont...]

If you view politics through a racialist lens it makes perfect sense. Supporting liberal policies in the host nation makes it easier to exploit while nationalism at home reduces competition from rival groups. The real mystery is why anyone would be puzzled by this. Instead the writer (and the scholars he cites) turn themselves into pretzels trying to avoid mention of ethnic interest.

VDare:

Once the Hindu-Indians take over the whole IT department (Hindu only IT ghetto), the following series of events takes place-

  1. Hindu-Indian programmers further divide into two groups (North Indian Hindus and South Indian Hindus). This dividing process takes in few weeks.

  2. North Indian Hindu programmers further divide into five groups (Punjabis, Gujarathis, Marathis, Bengalis and the rest). This dividing process takes in few months.

  3. At the same time, South Indian Hindu programmers further divide into four groups (Telugus, Tamilians, Kannadigas and Malayalis). This dividing process takes in few months.

  4. Only one of the nine above mentioned sub-groups finally 'survives' and 'occupies' the whole IT department. This dividing process take at least a year.

  5. Among the final group, each Hindu-Indian IT programmer tries to bring their spouse/sibling by eliminating other ones.

  6. So, the left overs in this final Hindu-Indian programming group will be a couple of 'families' and 'extended families'. The cubicles will become their 'homes'.

Conclusion - So here we have a 'Slum dog Family' Hindu-Indian Programmers forming a chaotic mini-Third World country within the IT departments across the Western corporate world.

Watching this drama play out I feel intense despair for the future of my country and fantasize about buying a block of land somewhere far far away.

Denmark has no minimum wage requirements but they consistently pay their workers more than people are paid in the US. The reason is that the Dutch workers are more productive, there are strong unions, and they heavily restrict immigration, all factors which keep wages high.

VDare:

… Americans assume that Danish wages must be high because of regulations, but Denmark has no national minimum wage, and it would be perfectly legal for a construction company or a corner pizzeria to hire workers at $5 an hour. Being Jewish was the most significant predictor of refusal to eat meat, followed by having no religion, being a member of the “other religion” category, being black, being a member of an environmental group, being a member of the “other race” category, claiming to do what one can to help the environment, driving less to save the environment, and trying to buy chemical-free produce.

If not eating meat is a criteria then white males score poorly.

Labor has traditionally been against mass immigration as it threatened their wages and also their way of life. They also had to deal with the consequences of living in close proximity to the immigrants.

This changed after WWII when traditional Marxism lost its allure and fostering immigration became a point of pride for the left who saw it as a means of demonstrating how progressive they were, while simultaneously destroying any sense of ethnic coherence in the countries they ruled.

The fact their values dovetailed with the tenants of new-liberal capitalism, in which the world is flattened and all cultural and regulatory barriers that threaten the free movement of capital and labor are removed, also helped.

Nueva Germania was founded in 1886 on the banks of the Aguaray-Guazú River, about 250 kilometres from Asunción by five, later fourteen, largely impoverished families from Saxony. Led by Bernhard Förster and his wife, Elisabeth Förster-Nietzsche, the German colonists emigrated to the Paraguayan rainforest to put to practice utopian ideas about the superiority of the Aryan race. Whether explicitly using the term or not, all pieces of the right that are on the edge of the Overton Window our outside of it discuss attempts at networking that involve building what amounts to a trusted mannerbund. It would be useful to research what it takes to make a mannerbund work. It cannot just be beers and a posting career. For no more than ten dollars, one can read up on, arguably, the greatest mannerbund created of all time: the Afrikaner Broederbond

The Broederbond was a secret society exclusively made up of Calvinist Afrikaner males. Its origins were very modest. It was eighteen young men coming together to discuss the state of the Afrikaner people. In 1921, they decided to make it an official secret society with roughly forty men. This was a society of men who within a generation would capture a national government and proceed to run it for the next forty years. [Cont...]

Very loosely based on the Dirlewanger division. Despite the violence, I didn't feel it was anti-German although it could certainly be used as such. I felt it was more about the confusion and chaos of war.

If you haven't seen it, give Come and See a whirl. It's a grimy war movie that somehow manages to feel authentic despite being shot on a really cheap budget. I think they had access to surplus WWII equipment when they filmed it.

It's full of symbolism that goes over my head I afraid. I would love Greg or Frodi to review it.

  • The House of Rothschild (1934)

It was originally made to celebrate the success of the eponymous bankers but they behave so badly in the movie the Nazis actually used large portions of it as propaganda. Devon Stack reviewed it. His review is fun to listen to, even if you don't watch the film.

  • The Apprenticeship of Duddy Kravitz (1974)

Jew / Goy relationships go sour in this comedy involving purchasing land by a lake. Both sides claim the other treated them unfairly which means evens things up I suppose. THe TRS crowd like it because it confirms their prejudices. I've got it on my watch list to see what the fuss is about.

  • Brawl in Cell Block 99 (2017)

A masculinist movie with a Christian theme that I enjoyed. It's not realistic and feels allegorical, bordering on grind-core. I've linked to a Counter Currents review.

I appreciated your list as well. I'll add some more movies as I think of them.

I Hated this movie for various reasons (I didn't like its tonal style) but friends enjoyed it. LIberal friends thought it was awesome that a white family got their comeuppance. One theory is that the over production of elites has lead to a high / low revolt against the middle which is contributing to our current social turmoil.

Ed Dutton is a science popularizer. He talks about the problem in a couple of podcasts where he introduces books he has written on the subject:

He also gave an hour long speech on the subject in Poland

He is a popularizer but his slightly eccentric podcasts draw on serious research.

That's an awesome list. I had forgotten American Factory which for some reason I could only find in a mostly Chinese version.

The post is quite old so posting there is probably not very useful What I could do is make a new post — Call it something like "Culture from the Right — Movies that red pilled me on modern culture" and repost there. I'll let you know when I do. That will give others time to Come up with a list or for you to edit things if you want to. I'll also search out some of the more mainstream movie subs and find out what their rules are.

The only problem is that r/movies will probably down-vote a separate post that mentions right wing movies.

Incidently you should maybe send Greg Johnson and Frodi Midjord a copy of your movie suggestions. THere might be some that they have overlooked.

Not really a fan of tying IQ to childbirth...

The argument is for an aggregate. It's a statistical phenomena which effects populations over time. There is clear evidence, for example that social patterns in pre-industrial Britian (in which the population was at its Malthusian limits) caused a the IQ of the entire population to increase. By contrast, people in Western countries are now becoming perceptibly stupider. Steve Sailer calls it Idiocracy Lite:

The irony is that white liberal elitists, who see themselves as better than the rest of America because (A) they loudly proclaim their belief in equality; and (B) they have above average IQs, are particularly likely to find disagreeable the new America that they have helped midwife through their support for open borders [Cont...]

Modern cities are IQ shredders. They suck in talented people from around the world who then fail to reproduce themselves.

I quite agree however that modern governments have given up on their own citizens preferring immigrants instead A New Zealand economist describes it as a cargo cult:

Croaking Cassandra — Large scale non-citizen immigration to New Zealand is making us all poorer

[We] should stop the mythmaking, and revert to being a normal country - one that makes its own prosperity, with its own people - rather than endlessly hankering (as our officials and ministers constantly seem to) after some better class of people over the water who, if only we could get them, in enough numbers, might finally reverse our century of decline. What's New Zealand's ideal population? OR NWO prepares kiwis for complete replacement by a diverse horde by 2055. by bobbobbybob in NewZealand

[–]Jacinda 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

The economy demands growth and growth demands immigration. No thought is given to the sort of society that doubling our population will create or to the lowering of New Zealander's living standards and the sacrifices that giving our country away to immigrants will entail.

Great news if you are an overseas banker benefiting from the mortgages taken out to pay for our ever escalating house prices or an already wealthy businessperson who wants cheap labour and ever more bug-men to consume your product. Hell for everybody else.

Mike Rendell (who says he is is concerned about the country his children will inherit) has been banging on about the dustructiveness of population growth for ages. He points out that by importing the third world, we become the third world; our burgeoning population destroys productivity (as well as the environment) locking us into a low-wage economy from which young New Zealanders flee:

Croaking Cassandra — Large scale non-citizen immigration to New Zealand is making us all poorer

[O]ur immigration programme, which has now run this way for almost 30 years is really much more deserving of the label Think Big: it is bigger, has skewed the economy more, has lasted longer, and has done much more to damage the prospects of New Zealanders living here. There has been a central planners’ conceit that we can simply ignore what NZers are doing - leaving, typically in large numbers - and bring in lots of (modestly skilled) foreigners, and concentrate them in Auckland.

[Snip...]

It simply won’t happen. [Cont...]

Plenty more such papers on his blog.

He of course is only writing only about the economic aspect. Diversity is division. It's ridiculous to think, for example, a group of Maori elders are incapable of getting anything done but throw in a gay Muslim, a British skinhead, a Hindu chauvinist, and a Mexican transexual and now you are rocking.

They need to interview sociologists who understand biology, urban planners who know how to create livable cities, and deep ecologists who understand the importance of nature.

My own policy would be to educate people about the obvious problems of overpopulation. What sort of country do we want people, already in their 20s, to inherit? My own preference woul be to gradually reduce our numbers to about 3.5 million and to make NZ one of the best countries in the world to live in.

Myth of the 20th Century cover the same topic albeit from a eugenicist angle:

They have their own set of references which are behind the link.

It was interesting but a little too discursive for me. I think Edward Dutton's take was better.

The bulk of the podcast was taken up describing how life at the Malthusian limits influenced genetic selection in the UK (and by corollary Western Europe) where the better off had more children and this had a eugenic effect on the general population.

The last section talked about how this trend in modern society is reversed so that the most conscientious and intelligent members of society are leaving the least number of offspring while welfare (shades of Malthus) enables the least capable members of society to proliferate.

There was a short but excellent discussion about how population density destroys the quality of life. They pointed out that Tuscany is considered a pleasant place to live but if everyone moved there it would lose it's attractiveness.

The podcast was still interesting, mainly because so few people address this topic, but the information could easily have been condensed into a moderately sized article. It would been good if they could have broadened their scope and used some of the information that Dutton presented.

Ed Dutton channeling his inner Malthus

I know it is his shtick but IMO this video would be improved if he had found a different song to open with — his attempt at humor combined with images of children dying of starvation is a little cruel for my tastes — It also makes the video more difficult to share on standard social media.

The contents however were great. Given that they are going to live to see some of this unfold, Dutton's students are fortunate to have him. More academics need to engage with the most pressing issue of our time.

Mods, please make a sticky post letting everyone know ruqqus/+debatethedissidentright is the back up site when this sub goes down. by JuliusCaesar225 in debatealtright

I hope you sick around or at least continue posting here. Ruqqus doesn't really work for me on my admittedly ancient operating system.

Maybe we should think about ways we can grow this sub. Two things that immediately come to mind are:

  • Cross-posting content:

A cross-post feature such as they have on Reddit would help; following cross-posts was one of the ways I found the popular dissident subs there. It is more work, but it is easy enough to link within Saidit when posting outside this sub.

  • Shilling on other platforms:

Letting people know about Saidit in Reddit threads and in the comments threads on other websites such as Unz and Counter Currents as well as local Nationalist sites. Maybe if someone was knowledgable (and motivated) they could write a short guide to right-wing social media and publish it at Counter Currents

There is so much good content spread across Saidit, and you and other mods have worked so hard to produce a supportive environment, it would be a pity to see it go to waste.

Lastly what's happening with M7? I realize he is not happy with some of the content Saidit attracts but is there any way we can support this platform or otherwise show our appreciation for the work he undoubtedly puts in?

Reminder: we have a music sub, book sub, short clip, and statistics oriented sub. (some not very active but they are still alive!) by send_nasty_stuff in debatealtright

[–]Jacinda 1 insightful - 1 fun1 insightful - 0 fun2 insightful - 1 fun -  (0 children)

There is also, amongst other subs, great content on:

It's frustrating how much knowledge is here, good this site is, and how little known it is. When it first started I was afraid it would go the way of Voat or become a Reddit version of 4chan but thanks to the work our mods do it is a pleasant place to visit. I feel I should be making more of an effort advertising it either through linking from Reddit or from the comments sections in other established sites.

Thanks to everyone who has worked hard to get it to this stage. Long may it continue.

As David Cole points out organized Jewish power tends to create Golems.

Takimag:

What is Congressmuslim Ilhan Omar if not a golem? For decades, leftist Jews have been the biggest boosters of flooding the West with Third World immigrants. “Hey, here’s a plan—let’s dump a hundred thousand Somalis in the whitest parts of the U.S. That’ll save us from Fargo Hitler!” Inundating the West with nonwhite immigrants is seen by Jews as an insurance policy against “white supremacy.” The idea is that these immigrants will act as a wedge, diluting “white power” while remaining small enough in numbers to be manageable.

[Snip...]

And now we Jews, so worried that Minnesota might become the Frozen Fourth Reich if left in the hands of evil whites, have created for ourselves a good old-fashioned golem in Ilhan Omar (and a bunch of other Third World freshman congressthingies). Yeah, Omar hates whites. Yeah, she thinks “white supremacy” lurks behind every glass of milk and “OK” finger sign. But she hates Jews a hell of a lot more. And here are my people—my brilliant retards—now forced to defeat the monster they created, a monster not only brought about by Jewish-backed policies, but one that mirrors Jewish rhetoric like a pro. I'm really enjoying Gregory Hood, Chris Roberts and their new podcast, Left, Right, and White. It was discussed on this sub a few days ago

Every week they discuss a writer that influenced them on their political journey; taken together the podcasts add up to a course in political thought.

You can find a list of the podcasts here:

The original resource list from the r/DebateAltRight can be found here:

Searching this sub using "book", "books", "read" or "reading" also turns up a number of recommendations.

s/RuneBooks is also an essential visit.

Mark Weber has put up a list of recommended books over at the Institute of Historical Review:

The study guide is divided into five sections:

  • The Second World War

  • American History

  • International Relations

  • Communism, Marxism and the Soviet Union

  • Zionism, US-Israel Relations, and the ‘Jewish Question’

A brief summary is given for each book

As added bonus, some of the books can be purchased through the site.

Weber discusses the reading list with Frodi Midjord on the Guide to Kulchur podcast:

From time to time Counter Currents also reviews books. I've added a number of items to my reading list after first seeing them there.

From VDare:

At least some moderates and conservatives [who traditionally voted with the Left in order to exclude the Sweden Democrats] will choose to save their country, even if it means aligning with a party that journalists don't like. They have to or else the entire West is doomed. If nothing else, we have to hope that out of sheer self-interest and ambition, at least some conservatives will work with nationalists to attain power.

It looks like that moment is getting closer in Sweden:

The populists who’ve been battling to shut down immigration into Europe may be heading for a significant breakthrough in Sweden. The far-right Sweden Democrat party may well have the votes to help the conservative opposition secure a majority after next year’s elections, and the evidence is mounting that traditional right-wing politicians will be tempted to cut a deal to give the anti-immigrant group a say in government.

The idea of governing a country for the benefit of the people who actually live in it doesn't seem terribly radical but suggesting it today makes you some sort of extremist.

Review: Caldwell Reflections on the Revolution in Europe: Immigration, Islam, and the West

  • "For all the lip service paid to diversity, people tend to flee it."

  • "Real discussions—about the increasing 'diversity' of European society and whether it was a good or a bad thing—were all but shut down."

  • "To express misgivings about immigration was to confess racist inclinations."

  • "Immigrants and their children were at liberty to express politically their wishes as a people, in a way that European natives were not."

  • Europe is "not dealing with an ordinary immigration problem at all, but with an adversary culture."

  • After the 2005 French riots "there was a desire, verging on desperation, to explain the riots as being due to some misconduct of the majority society."

  • "Europeans fear their individual countries are slowly escaping their political control, and they are right, although they can seldom spell out precisely how."

  • Europeans live in internal exile, "cut off by economic and cultural changes from the world they thought they would inhabit."

  • Immigration "means importing not just factors of production but factors of social change."

  • "In no country in Europe does the bulk of the population aspire to live in a bazaar of world cultures."

I couldn't get the subtitles to work either — maybe I'll have better luck on a desktop computer.

Anyway I am glad it is out there.

Incidently I have often thought one of the dissident publishers such as Antelope Hill should offer a crowd funded translation service. Someone (perhaps on a Saidit sub) could propose a document or video to translate and interested parties could all chip in.

When the required amount is reached the translator is paid and then the work can be sold or distributed on the Internet. It would be good to have more of a feel for what is going on in Europe and such a service might keep a translator or two in pocket money.

We should be using our best technological expertise and our scientific knowledge to build a post capitalist society that restores nature rather than unraveling it — Not LARPing as Weimar 2.0.

I am not a moral relativist but realistically, given the constraints of the present, it it is difficult at any point in time to know what the right side of history really means. I am quite sure given the bitterness of the defeat and the intense allied propaganda by 1945 many German's would have felt intense shame. It might be better to read first hand accounts from before the war when a sense of high moral virtue drove participation in the Reich.

David Cole writes vividly about the shame instilled in the average German and contrasts it with the Japanese where the war leaders were (after a suitable peiod of absence) simply reinstated.

Takimag:

The bottom line of my fascination was, what are the psychological effects of living in a nation where a foreign force came in and told you “everything you were was bad. Everything you stood for was bad. And now we’re going to remake you into a good people and a good country, whether you like it or not. You were foul, you were vile, you were monsters. But now, we’ll try to make you into decent humans…not that you have any say in the matter.”

If I could go back in time and reverse history of course I would. The real problem is given imperfect knowledge, and our very real human limitations how do we act in the present. Our actions shouldn't be constrained by something that happened eighty years ago.

Plot of genetics of human races, chimps, denisovans and neanderthals by Dragonerne in debatealtright

Really interesting. I had no idea Neanderthal's and Denisovians were so separate from us.

Incidentally I have always wondered, ethical considerations aside, if it would be possible to breed back to a more genetically pure Neanderthal stock or if some chimp / human hybrid could be produced. I realize in the chimp case chromosome counts are different but could one produce a chimera?
