A decent amount of leftists become leftists because they have been taught, since birth, to hate us and our ideas and never even think in passing about their validity. It's like being surprised at a bear rifling through your garbage instead of knocking on your door and asking for leftovers.

Most leftists genuinely believe they are doing the right thing, and many have ideas that would, in part, line up with ours (at least in a general sense) but have been perverted by globalism and Jewish (or rather Satanic propaganda) to make them harmful and non-viable. Many leftists simply aren't informed and refuse to be taught, and focus on the wrong things with the right ideas. If you separate the ideas of Mussolini or Hitler or other Third Positionist thinkers from their words and boil them down to their core, many of the core beliefs they hold are similar or identical to those of most reasonable leftists, however the latter lacks certain ideas and elements in their beliefs that the former thinkers had.
