"If I remember correctly, the lightning network is set up so that it sits between you and every transaction". What you just described sounds exactly like an old-style Mafia skim operation. It's one of the oldest scams around and you're right to distrust it. But, then, I distrust all crypto (fiat) currencies because, just like the US dollar, they're based in nothing and bound to collapse, eventually.

Then, you have things like this:

So, yeah... Any time I think of Crypto anything it makes the hairs on the back of my neck stand up.

    Your sixty five years experience with social media and crypto since birth? Is this what you do? You simply claim that you are old, and therefor always right?

    Question? Did you ever Question your parents? Were they always right? They have always been older than yourself after all.
