Malcolm X was murdered one week after his home was firebombed on February 21, 1965, as he prepared to address the Organization of Afro American Unity in New York.

He had recently made the Moslem pilgrimage to Mecca where after he publicly decried the policies of Nation of Islam's founder Elijah Mohammed as racist.

Insofar as in Mecca he had witnessed "the whitest of whites and the blackest of blacks" united in the Moslem faith .. Nation of Islam members Talmadge Hayer, Norman Butler and Thomas Johnson were convicted of his killing. Edit.

Malcolm X's autobiography is a must read for any conspicary theorist. Malcolm X was low key a conspiracy theorist who translated his ideas into positive actions.
