Opinion and mind are interchangeable. He states, 'has to die', not 'will die'. This is not a statement of adaptability, nor are opinions relevant to objective reality. Meaning this is not purely a philosophical statement on existence, but an actionable one.

He is literately saying if you don't change your mind, he will kill you.

Now you should be asking, who compares a human mind to that of the skin of a snake? This implies a shedding of persona, and deception.
