Closing schools makes sense when trying to stop a dangerous virus from spreading. My beef is that this virus was not dangerous enough to warrant the closures.

Everything you needed to know about the mortality of this virus was established with the human experiment of The Diamond Princess Cruise ship. (Feb of 2020)

https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC7156812/

We knew at this point the virus was affecting the elderly while youth experienced mild symptoms. To me this ship was docked and the people left onboard specifically for the reason of determining how dangerous this virus really was. Like a sealed experiment.

What should have been done was voluntary lockdowns for the elderly/sick while the youth should have been mobilized to service the them by getting groceries and running errands. Locking down the whole population was a horrific idea and I hope someday people are held accountable.
