This is such a sad disease. Imagine things crawling under your skin and your doctor referring you to a psychiatrist instead of trying to treat it. Nobody knows what it is but it really fucks you up. I feel terrible for the people who have it. From what I understand a lot of them end up committing suicide.

i read something about the fibres being due to collagen and keratin being made by your cells. crazy. and from a bug. It is really odd to read modern articles describing it as an actual disease. the poor bastards that had it and were ignored. At least healthline accepts it now, and helps with people who have doctors who consider it a delusion.

I had an online friend who had this back in...2005? It's crazy that it was treated like bullshit by doctors and now it's being recognized. He was told he had everything from bed bugs, then scabies, and the list goes on. Back then you could only find real help on "conspiracy" forums. I often wonder what happened to that guy, he was definitely suicidal and depressed.
