I don't understand why folks don't just say Wahhabism is evil like Zionism - other than the Saudis are our ally and foster it all. But if we can call out Zionism then...

Also by calling out the -ism it demonizes the bad ideas rather than the people who may or may not be forced into/under it.

And no one has to use Islam, Muslim, Arab or Jew if they can target the -ism.

Agreed completely. Yeah we should all be calling it out. I suspect many have never heard of it and the others just lump all Islam together.

Let's dig up some Wahhabism textbooks and show everyone how crazy it is.

It's pretty funny that for all the subs we have, we don't have Zionism. I'll think about it.

/s/Zionism has been in my list since I made the list, but I've generally been able to slide it in to related subs begrudgingly.

I'm more than a little disappointed in myself that I hadn't added /s/Wahhabism to the list until today. Especially when there's no /s/Islam, /s/Muslim, or even /s/SaudiArabia. Go figure. If anything it's a little hint that SaidIt is not a place for hate. Or appreciation for Islam. Either that or we've been too ignorant to follow an important thread.

To be fair to myself, I hadn't added /s/Buddhism to my list until now either, and while I'm an atheist I still like /s/Zen Buddhism and have a bunch of Buddha heads of various sizes here.
