According to a police source, an investigation of the incident also indicates that an IDF combat helicopter that arrived at the scene from the Ramat David base fired at the terrorists, apparently hitting some of the revellers who were there.

In your title you said helicopters when according to the link you gave there was only one IDF helicopter. You also claimed that IDF helicopters killed the majority of the revellers when the link just said some.

That Newsweek article is from last month. Perhaps it's the old story due to fog of war or flat out disinformation.

One of the strange occurrences at the music festival is the burned bodies and burned/crushed cars. At first the stories were that Hamas was burning the bodies after raping them, but like... With what, and why? And now they're saying Hamas attackers were burned too. Why would they burn their own? And what about the cars? Why did the terrorists bother or manage to do that?

That sounds a lot more like indiscriminate missile fire killed those people.

The picture that seems to be emerging is a knee jerk reaction from the Israeli command, not knowing the extent of the Hamas attack, gave permission for blue-on-blue strikes, including not only civilian homes and areas but even military installations.

And of course they blamed this on Hamas because everyone in this conflict has been lying their asses off.
