This reminds me of a George Carlin show where he talked about how many species become extinct every day (60) and how we feel like we're saving the world by maintaining pandas and tigers for our own amusement. How do snow leopards help humans to survive?

This article like every "preservation" movement is always a misdirection from the fact that poor countries are exhausting the seas and land of their resources because they literally have to. You have to fish to survive, you have to scavenge everything you can from the land in an overpopulated poor country. Why are these countries forced to do this? what caused their governments to fall behind? why can these countries not keep up? is it perhaps the fact that a global economy doesn't actually work when one party can assume the role of judge, jury and executioner?
