Democracy lol. How about the old republic? They had always given us the facade of a democracy to create an apathetic populace. Who knows the law now? BAR associates are shysters. And during Jackson's times the population was cabale of understanding law. Now the majoity of the population knows nothing of law.

Law is the truth of this fallen world. And Lawyers have taken the key away.

The've elevated the art of lying to such a degree that the've turned reality inside out. Example:

Popper's paradox of intolerance ins't that you can't tolerate intolerance, because you can, even if you don't want to. It's that you can't tolerate intolerance if goes to so far as to take away people's right. Yet this inaccurate version of the paradox is being used to take away people's freedom of speech. A clever trick if you've dedicated your life to lying.
