Ukraine

They were shelling in the Donbas for eight years

[–]Newmug 1 insightful - 2 fun1 insightful - 1 fun2 insightful - 2 fun -  (17 children)

No they weren't. And Donbas is Ukrainian. Lol

The Donbas had a referendum and became Russian. Meanwhile, OSCE reports are right here while the Donbass shelling was covered but ignored by the Corporate media

Not sure where in the world you are from, but I live here. I can 1000% guarantee you that any referendums held under russian occupation were rigged.

And of course the Ukranians were shelling in 2017, they were invaded in 2014.

If Canada invaded you, wouldn't you fight back?

If Mexico was receiving its arms from a Russia-led federation and was intent on joining this Russia military alliance as a full-fledged member, do you think that the USA would just stand by idly?

You personally cannot guarantee even 1%, much less 1000%. Step away from the Kool Aid and stop vomiting back what establishment media feeds you.

Sorry, but I argued with too many like you when I posted on an all Dem board. No more patience for it.

Yes. By America

Cohen argues that the Ukrainian crisis, which unfolded in late 2013 and early 2014 and which led to Crimea’s annexation by (or “reunification with”) Russia and to the still ongoing US-Russian proxy war in eastern Ukraine, is a seminal event of the 21st century. It militarized and moved the new Cold War to Russia’s borders—in the form of a civil and proxy shooting war—indeed to inside a civilization shared for centuries by Russia and large parts of Ukraine. It implanted a toxic and dangerous political element in US, Russian, Ukrainian, and European politics, perhaps for at least a generation. And it has left Ukraine in near-economic ruin, with thousands of citizens dead and millions displaced and many more struggling to regain the quality of life they had before 2014. The events of 2014 also led to the ongoing NATO buildup on Russia’s western border in the Baltic region, yet another new Cold War front fraught with the possibility of hot war. Making things only worse, in late 2017, the Trump administration announced that it would supply the Kiev government with more, and more sophisticated, weapons, a step that even the Obama administration, which played a major detrimental role in the crisis, declined to take.

And? Russia still invaded a soverign country and killed thousands of innocent people. No amount of political bolloxology is worse than that.

Russia gave the US security demands in December regarding the Donbass region.

So? What if Canada demanded that Montana be military free. How far up their ass would you tell them to stick it?

Your second link is behind a paywall - but how the fuck can you renege on a "demand" you didn't agree to?

Are you fucking kidding me? Thats like Canada "recognising" Montana as Canadian and using that as an excuse to invade. They did this 2 fucking days before the invasion.

Again, are you retarded? Russia crossed the line in 2014, Ukraine had justifiably been trying to kick them out ever since.

No. But I don't think the US would invade Mexico.

A better analogy would be New York voting to succeed and join Canada and the rest of the US declaring war on New York, and Canada supporting New York. Especially if New York was majority French speaking, and the US was persecuting them for it. My take would probably be good riddance to bad rubbish.

Except thats not what happened in the Ukrainian situation. At all.
