A nice gesture, a slow-to-react family, and faulty brakes, what a nasty combo. RIP.

Those "nice gestures" are stupid. That was the first step to this catastrophe.

Not really. If the car* in front of you stops when you're not on a highway then you also fucking stop. This impatient cunt got a child killed because they so desperately needed to overtake and keep driving.

You do realize he hit his brakes the same time that car did, but its a large semi trailer and cannot stop nearly as fast as that vehicle in front of him did. The car slamming on their brakes actually gave the kids a false sense of security to cross because uninformed individuals like yourself know nothing about semi trucks and their ability to come to a complete stop with a full load.

If the truck driver knows they can't stop in time if the car in front of them were to hard stop then the truck driver is at fault for driving too close.
Basic traffic rules. It's sad that this went way over your head.

Then he should keep a greater following distance. If you can't stop when the car in front of you slams on its brakes, then either you're driving badly, or you're driving in faulty equipment. Either way, you shouldn't be.

No, respect right of way and there wouldn't be any issue. Why even put yourself in a position where you have a chance to get hit? That highway looks pretty empty so they could have easily waited until there was enough time to slowly walk across the road but the car stopping put pressure on them to run across.

Because they are women and they are stupid.

No. It "really" was "the first step" to this catastrophe.
