I'm really trying to understand how losing your girlfriend and job suddenly means blowing your brains out. Also his fucking dog had to see that, what an asshole.

He might have lost a job the year before and now this one at Toyota, maybe because the plant had to furlough people. He's also a war vet.

I'm late as fuck, but I wanted to mention, there must have been more going on than what was obvious. He was a veteran, as someone mentioned, so he likely suffered PTSD, which often comes with severe depression, anxiety, and reactions to stress that seem extreme. Even if he didn't come home with PTSD, depression could still occur, and those events could have been the straws that finally broke his back.

It's also absolutely worth noting that you do not think clearly or rationally when you're in that state. What possessed him to stream it, I won't pretend to know for sure, but I'm not here to judge a broken man. You can tell by the absolute lack of hesitation after he ended the phone call that he was broken and done. It's a dangerous place to be, as you can very clearly see. The fucked up part is shit like this can sometimes be prevented by showing your loved ones that they're loved.

We just don't know every single thing he went through, or everything that was wrong with him.
