Ya know, as a Mexican American who's gone to Mexico for 6 months out of the year for 20 years (I'm 24), I can say I'm not surprised, if anything I feel like they deserve it. Since I was a kid I've always questioned these kinda of nut-job, unnecessary, eurocentric, religious cult rituals that involve unnecessary fire projectiles. However, I've always got chastised bc I was "wrong" for not believing or supporting this shit. I'm the "negative" one because I want these people to take this shit seriously. Although I'm sad that a life was taken, I hope these people learn a fucking lesson.

Their lack of safety precautions has nothing to do with the ritual, anywhere in the world where big fireworks are used, you don't sit on top of the whole pile and fire away one by one with your kid by your side
