Why the hell did the old man just walk in without even looking if the elevator's actually there? It's right in front of him. Normal people wouldn't go inside an elevator without seeing if it's actually there. If it's dark, the more reason you shouldn't walk into it. It's common sense.

I don't know why he opened it but its clearly the dumb dad's fault. Son was clearly blocking his entry and the dad brushed through. PS Don't visit communist china.

Why would you even open the doors to begin with?

Surveillance footage from a residential building in Cengong county, southwest China's Guizhou Province shows two men waiting for the elevator to arrive. The son-in-law got impatient and used a key to unlock the elevator door and look inside the shaft, but then the father-in-law walked into the shaft, apparently thinking the lift had arrived and fell to his death. The tragic incident triggered a heated debate online about whether it was by accident or premeditated. "The son-in-law seems very professional and knew where the elevator lock was. I don't know its place", said a netizen on Chinese social media platform Weibo. The son-in-law, surnamed Zhou, claims to be the community's electrician. "I forgot to tell my father-in-law not to walk in and I didn’t stop him," Zhou explained. The elevator lock is used by firefighters during emergencies and should never be opened otherwise.

Who the hell opens the doors manually just because their inpatient? And what would it do anyways, make the elevator magically appear? Looks like premeditated murder.

Probably to see where it was at, maybe you got stuck or something? and I bet you he didn't assume that the stupid dad would just walk in like that

So many questions..
Why do 90% of elevator and escalator deaths seem to happen in China? Why did he open the doors when the elevator wasn't there yet? Why was he ABLE to open the doors without the elevator there that easily? Why did the father in law just walk into a clearly empty elevator shaft like a fucking lemming?

Why did the son in law just let him brush past. Like, where else did he think he was going. This video is so weird. It could literally be premeditated murder, a suicide, or really an accident.
